Organic Gardening in June is a busy month with just a hint of summer on the way. After the SPRING PLANTING SEASON, things got a little slow due to the cold and wet weather. We at the Swiss garden are now reaping the benefits of perennial plants and are harvesting some of these goodies.

Spring Planting at the Swiss Organic Garden
After the Greenhouse Construction, we at the Swiss Organic garden wanted to begin the garden season with spring planting. The planting was not so visible in the garden itself following a spell of extreme cold weather as it was still March. So, in the meantime we started the germination process with our heirloom seeds. Some of that was a success.
Top 3 reasons to build a greenhouse
After a successful gardening year in 2018 Organic-vegetable-harvest with the help of our temporary greenhouse. We decided to build a new permanent greenhouse this year. There are many reasons to build a greenhouse or a hot house as it used to be called in days of yore. In this post I will be citing 3 main reasons to build a greenhouse and why we built ours. I will also touch on the subsidiary reasons pertaining to these main ones.
The laws in Switzerland are very strict with regard to building regulations. More over we have a stream flowing through our plot, so it makes it even more difficult. In the meantime our immediate neighbor built a garden shed last autumn adjacent to our plot. So that kind of gave us the hope that our new permanent green house wouldn’t be an objection to the planning authorities.
November Garden tour
November Garden and the beginning of winter garden go hand in hand. Temperatures have already dropped to below zero and many of the perennials are settling in for their winter sleep.
Swiss Organic Fall Garden Update
For the past two weeks, day and night temperatures have been dropping at our Swiss Organic fall garden. We are now seeing the beginning of fall with temperatures dropping as low as 3 degrees centigrade. Our organic fall garden looks a lot different after getting used to an almost tropical weather these past few weeks.

Our visit to Schweiben Alp Permaculture Community
Permaculture way of gardening has been at the heart of our gardening experiments.
We are often adapting this technique as I mentioned in Organic vegetable harvest.
We decided to visit Schwaibenalp Permaculture community again this year. Europe was experiencing a heat wave between July and august. We wanted a reprieve from this heat for at least a couple of days. So what better than to combine a yoga seminar, cool alpine climate and wonderful nature at the same time.
Organic Vegetable Harvest
A lot of planning and effort has gone in to get a bountiful Organic Vegetable Harvest during June and July. My husband has been at it since autumn last year by planting some of the vegetables which would be ripe for this summer harvest. There is a lot of learning curve in store for us yet to enable us to get more productive in the coming years in order to have a more efficient and productive organic vegetable harvest for the future too. I will try to summarize as much as I can into this post.
