Swiss Grocery shopping

Swiss grocery shopping is getting more and more complicated with many new German players who have entered the Swiss market. We at the Swiss home seldom shop at super markets. Early on we used to order organic food from farmers together with friends to make it more cost effective and economical. This was at a time when organic food was seldom available and an exclusivity of only the health food stores.

Over the past 2 decades, things have changed and we have easy access to high quality organic food all over Switzerland.

Rosti is probably one Swiss dish which can be made vegan without any difficulty. Its also the easiest dish and anyone can make it all over the world. All you will need is potatoes of the hard variety and a few simple tools which are in everyone’s kitchen. Rosti is a hot favorite among kids here, a potato dish which is not chips and a healthier option in my opinion.

Vegan banana muffins for a light snack or an afternoon tea is what I come up with for those over ripe bananas. This recipe is a favorite of mine as its so easy to bake. Since my daughter is gluten intolerant, I have tweaked this recipe with a flour low in gluten. I used spelt flour instead of the normal all-purpose flour.
